Sometimes I get invited to photograph local events. This past weekend I covered a section of Sanford Porchfest. Taken from their website: Porchfest is a free grassroots festival in the historic residential downtown of Sanford, FL. Several homes host various musicians performing simultaneously while guests gather in the lawns and closed-off roadways to watch. All of the proceeds from the festival (collected through donations, sponsorships, and merch sales) are returned to the community in the form of a performing art summer camp tuition for select children. The vision of Sanford Porchfest is to be an authentic and charitable organization that helps unify the Sanford community through access to music, access to arts education, and access to each other. Families, friends, and neighbors unite over a common thread - music!
