Andreia from The Flower Studio had posted about wanting to do a stylized shoot with some of her florals. I don't normally jump on a stylized shoot that is hosting multiple photographers, but things have been slower that usual with the pandemic, and I thought it would be a fun thing to do to practice working with my strobe light in a wedding scenario. I normally shoot natural light and bounce flash for weddings, because setting up and moving a strobe light with a soft box can be time consuming. I was especially excited to join this stylized shoot because of the location, 1010 West in downtown Orlando. I had never been to the venue before, but have seen beautiful photos of the place. 1010 West is a "hidden airplane hangar that features many rich textures from the past." When you are driving there, you have no clue that this is a wedding venue. There aren't really signs, and it just looks like a big metal industrial building. But I parked my car and headed inside. Inside I found rich wooden and metal textures interwoven under market lights. The beautiful high ceiling and open floor space make the venue a dream for interior decorators that can do so many things with the space, including hanging huge chandeliers from the massive steal beams. Andreia used a combination of garden roses, ranunculus, peonies, and tea roses in the bride’s hairpiece and bouquet, groom’s boutonniere, table centerpieces, cake and dessert table, and arch. Carla and Josh are an engaged couple from Central Florida that will be getting married next year, so the connection that you see between the two of them is completely real.
Andreia made sure to include several wedding vendors from Central Florida for a complete look. Make sure to check out each of the vendors below!
