Mom Blog Post

Once again, I'm super behind on blogging, but this time I have a good reason! As most of you know, I recently gave birth to a baby girl, and she has been very time consuming. This time around I have used the power of Amazon for my baby registry as well as purchasing things myself for everyday life without having to leave the house. So, I've decided to take a second and write a blog about all the great mom finds I got off Amazon.

First of all, I'd like to say Amazon's baby registry is off the charts. It is super easy to set up and use. When someone gets you a gift off your registry, it even keeps track of their address so that you can send a thank you card. If you go through and do their suggested checklist, Amazon will even send you a welcome box full of great items for you to try new products. They will also give you two 15% off coupons to purchase things off your wishlist that are left over. Target has some similar deals, so go ahead and make a registry on more than one website! Sometimes things are even cheaper on other sites, so make sure to shop around! Here are some quick links to products that I'm currently using and love!

I'm going to start with the most important item that was on my list: The Car Seat/Stroller system

The Evenflo Pivot Xpand Modular Travel System is amazing. It is really easy to use, sturdy, and I love the color of mine; Stallion. It's pretty much all black and makes my goth heart soar. There are so many different ways that you can use the stroller, and I've only used 2 different configurations so far. It's really great for parents who have more than one child. I wanted this one so that my next oldest one could ride on it as well, but once I got it, I don't think she will fit, so I haven't tested it out yet. I don't want to bore you with a bunch of details, but let's just say I give it 5 stars and I love it so much more than any other car seat/stroller that I've had before!

Next most important thing, a place to sleep!

The Graco Pack 'n Play Change 'N Carry Playard (I have a different color than the one pictured above) is perfect for me because we live in a trailer and we don't have much room. With this I have a bed, a changing table, and then later on a play pen for my daughter. It is easy enough to put together that my kids put it all together under my supervision. These are great for traveling, or to keep one at your regular babysitter's house!

Another must have on my list was a diaper pail. One that uses regular trash liners and not those specialty ones. While doing my research I found this one:

The Ubbi Steel Odor Locking Diaper Pail is 1,000x better than the one I had with my previous three girls. For oh so many reasons. First off, it is steel, not plastic. Why is that good? Steel is not porous and keeps the smell shielded inside. It also doesn't lock the odor in it's walls and is easy to clean! It also has a magnetic door for a super tight seal as well as a childproof lock. Bonus points: It comes in a wide variety of colors! I picked Robin Egg Blue!

I was going to write about my diaper bag next, but it's currently out of stock on Amazon, so it won't let me link it via my associates page, so I'll move onto my next favorite item.... the nursing top. Nursing shirts have one thing in common... they are boring. Nursing tank tops are plain. I can never find anything that I really like, until this shirt. I have one in black and one in grey.

I also got these nursing tanks. They are more spandex feeling than cotton and I love the colors they come in. The only problem I really have with them is that they kind of attract all these little particles to them, like little lint balls. They are great for pairing with a sweater or just wearing under a normal shirt so that when you pull your regular shirt up to nurse, your stomach/sides aren't exposed. When it comes to nursing bras, I love these. They are listed under sleep bras, but I wear them out.

I live in Florida, and it is hot 95% of the year. With my previous daughter I loved the Baby K'Tan, but I was always sweating while baby wearing. This time around I registered for the active K'tan with breathable mesh. I love it! I also have a Boba wrap which I love for wearing around the house. It is nice and stretchy so I can put it on and then take my daughter in and out of it with ease while I'm working on my computer or doing household chores. This baby is not happy unless mommy is holding her!

The difference between the two is that the K'tan is one size, and ready to use. It still takes some learning how to put it on, but once you got it down, it's pretty quick. The Boba is one long piece of fabric that you have to flip and fold and tie. The plus side is that it is one size fits all.

As a new mom, or even a pro who is starting all over again, you worry about your kid. My youngest is almost 3 months old and I've already used this multiple times. I literally keep it by my bed side because I am a worrier, and having it close by reassures me that my baby is doing ok.

Baby Forehead and Ear Temperature Thermometer is easy to use. A little confusing at first, I don't just press the on button to use it, I have to press another button and then the on button again. It also didn't come with an attachment for taking the temperature in the ear, which they recommend for older children. I really should go leave a review about that! Either way, if you are expecting or are a new mom, this is the type of thermometer that rocks. You can take a sleeping baby's temperature in about 3 seconds without waking them up!

When it comes to bath time, you are on your knees and leaning over the side of the tub a lot. This item is a life saver. For my last kid I just had the mat on the floor to kneel on. Now they have the arm savers too!

There are so many other products that I love, but these are the main ones that I think all momma's need to have!
