When Carla first contacted me, I wasn't available to photograph her destination engagement session. Reading the e-mail about Carla and Karen's plans for their engagement made me check my schedule and move around some dates so that I could make it work! Both went to school at DeLand's Stetson college, but graduated in different years. Carla studied biology (focusing on birds), and Karen focused on business. The two of them met years down the road, and decided to come back to Stetson for their engagement, well, half of it. Carla decided that she would propose to Karen at the Stetson fountain, and Karen decided she would surprise Carla by taking her out to Lake Woodruff where Carla spent a lot of time bird watching during her studies. Carla had a violinist and celloist play "All of Me" as she went through note cards that ended with the big question. Karen waited until we hiked to the Audubon tower, and then held out a box with tiny birds on it, inside was her matching wooden core ring! The sunset couldn't have been more perfect that evening, with the skies turning pinks, purples, and blues. It was the perfect day! I hope you enjoy all the adorable moments captured!
